Fresh Brothers Pizza Comes to WeHo

Clearly the management at Fresh Brothers are family folks.  For the recent opening of their newest location in West Hollywood, the scene was kid friendly, as little ones ran the joint — rolling dough and making their own personal pizzas, then delightfully devouring their custom creations – from plain tomato to double cheese and triple olives.  The results: amazingly delicious, and terrific fun.

Yes, the founders are indeed brothers.  A bunch of Chicago guys who grew up on the windy city’s best, which they have re-created with a California twist.  Their first pizzeria opened 2008 in Manhattan Beach, and now they have spread across Los Angeles, with 10 locations and growing.

So far, the chain is off to a great start.  So far I’ve ordered carry-out twice, and it’s been hot, fresh and delivered sooner than promised.  I’ve visited only one location, in WeHo, and the staff were terrific.

Talk about a business that’s in touch with its customers.  During Passover, Lotsa Matazh Pizza was added to the menu, prompting two Rabbi’s to call offer their thanks and one family in Beverly Hills to order 10 pizzas to feed their whole extended family.

Besides great pizza, the restaurant features meatball sliders topped with pizza sauce and mozzarella on a King’s Hawaiian Sweet Roll, Buffalo Wings with a choice of Hot, Mild , Sweet Chili , BBQ,  Roasted Garlic BBQ  or Super Hot seasoning, Mozzarella Sticks, garlicy Fresh Knots, a variety of fresh salads, and of course, French fries.  There’s also plenty of Gluten-free options, and cookies and brownies for a sweet finish.

The casual atmosphere with big wood block tables and benches is perfect for families, or a friendly group outing or informal date night.  For kids’ birthdays or other occasions, parties packages come complete with pizza making and cupcake decorating.

In the heart of WeHo on Santa Monica Boulevard, adjacent to the famous meetery known as “the gay Starbucks,” it will be interesting to see who becomes regular patrons.  For sure it will be a regular stop for me and my family.
